Outreach Is Now Outreach.ai: Omni, Agent Studio, and the MCP Suite Explained
Over four months in 2026, Outreach quietly executed the biggest platform shift in its history. It joined Anthropic's Model Context Protocol ecosystem in February, rebranded from Outreach.io to Outreach.ai in April alongside a conversational agent called Omni and a no-code Agent Studio, then completed the arc on June 2 by becoming the first revenue platform to ship a full MCP suite โ both a server and a client.
Most SDR teams noticed the new logo and moved on. That's a mistake. The MCP suite changes what "sales engagement platform" means: external AI agents โ Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Agentforce, ChatGPT, Codex โ can now sequence prospects, update records, and run workflows inside Outreach, and Outreach's own agents can reach out into Seismic, Snowflake, ZoomInfo, Slack, and the rest of your stack.
It also changes what Outreach costs. The rebrand came with a repackaging into four quote-only Amplify tiers, each with a consumption-based AI credit allowance that the new agentic features burn through by design.
Here's the full timeline, what each piece actually does, the credit economics nobody puts on the pricing page, and what SDR teams should do about it.
The 2026 Timeline: From Sequencer to Agent Platformโ
Outreach didn't announce this as one strategy, but the releases tell a clear story:
| Date | What shipped |
|---|---|
| February 24 | Joined Anthropic's MCP ecosystem; MCP Server announced (read access for Claude). Meeting Prep Agent (beta), Research Agent with scheduled refreshes, Deal Agent upgrades, Sequential Dialing |
| April 27 | Rebrand to Outreach.ai. Omni conversational agent, Agent Studio, Knowledge grounding, Smart Kaia Coach. New Amplify packaging with AI credits |
| May | MCP Server ships with write actions โ external agents can create and manage accounts, opportunities, and prospects |
| June 2 | Full MCP suite: MCP Client connects Outreach to external platforms; Agentic Ecosystem Marketplace launches |
The direction matches every major vendor this year. Salesforce turned its CRM into an agent workbench with Claudeforce and AIforce, Gong, Apollo, and ZoomInfo all shipped agent builders within a single week, Microsoft put an SDR agent into Dynamics 365, and Google gave Gemini agents their own Workspace identities. Outreach's differentiator is the MCP suite โ it's betting on being the execution layer other vendors' agents call into, rather than owning the agent itself.
What Omni Actually Isโ
Omni is a conversational interface embedded in Outreach's action layer โ in the web app, in Slack, and in the mobile app. The distinction Outreach draws is "not a copilot": you don't just ask Omni questions, you execute the follow-through in the same interaction. Ask "which of my deals slipped this week and why," get the answer, then tell it to draft the re-engagement email and schedule the task โ without switching tools.
In practice it's a chat front-end over the agents Outreach has been shipping since February:
- Meeting Prep Agent โ briefs with talking points and attendee overviews before each call
- Deal Agent โ automatic deal updates, risk alerts, AI summaries, custom methodology support
- Research Agent โ scheduled account research on daily, weekly, or monthly refresh cycles
- Knowledge โ grounds AI answers in company-approved content instead of the open web
If you've read our Outreach review, the core workflow critique still applies: these agents summarize and draft well, but the rep still decides what to do next. Omni makes the asking faster; it doesn't make the system opinionated.
Agent Studio: No-Code Agents for RevOpsโ
Agent Studio is a visual canvas where RevOps builds and schedules custom agents without engineering help. It ships with templates for the three workflows every team wants automated:
- Inbound lead engagement โ respond and route before the lead goes cold
- Closed-lost reactivation โ resurface dead deals when timing signals change
- Deal alerts โ watch pipeline and flag risk to the owner
This is the same pattern as Apollo's Builder Studio and Gong's agent workbench: the vendor provides the rails, your ops team assembles the workflow. The catch โ true for all of them โ is that someone has to own agent configuration, monitoring, and tuning. If your RevOps function is one overworked person, "no-code" still means "a new part-time job."
The MCP Suite: Why It Matters More Than the Rebrandโ
This is the part with real strategic weight. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard โ originally from Anthropic, now adopted across the industry โ that lets AI agents talk to external tools. Outreach shipped both halves:
MCP Server (inbound): external AI tools connect into Outreach. Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Agentforce, ChatGPT, and Codex can sequence prospects, update records, and trigger workflow automations. Since May, that includes write actions โ an agent can create accounts, opportunities, and prospects, not just read them.
MCP Client (outbound): Outreach's own agents connect out to the rest of the stack โ Seismic, Amplitude, Snowflake, Crayon, Sendoso, Slack, ZoomInfo, Glean, Demandbase, and other MCP-compatible services.
Outreach CPO Nithya Lakshmanan's framing: customer and revenue context is fragmented across tools, and the MCP pair lets agents "connect those dots and deliver the right actions in the seller's flow of work."
Two practical consequences for SDR teams:
-
Your sequencer is now scriptable by any AI agent. A rep running Claude or Copilot can add prospects to sequences and update deals from a chat window โ or a headless workflow can do it with no UI at all. That's genuinely useful, and it's also a new surface to govern: an agent with write access to your sequences can make mistakes at machine speed. Scope the permissions before you turn it on.
-
Write actions are the differentiator to test. Plenty of vendors have read-only MCP servers that answer questions about your data. Creating and managing opportunities from an external agent is rarer, and it's what turns "chat with your CRM" into actual automation.
What the Amplify Repackaging Really Costsโ
The April rebrand came with a complete repackaging. Outreach now sells four quote-only tiers โ Amplify Essentials, Core, Plus, and Pro โ with AI credit allowances of roughly 10,000 / 25,000 / 50,000 / 100,000 credits respectively, layered on top of per-seat licenses. Omni queries, Agent Studio runs, and the research/prep agents all consume credits; extra packs are purchasable when you run out.
None of this is on a public pricing page. The reference points that exist: the only public list price is AWS Marketplace at $108,000 for 50 seats for 12 months โ $2,160 per seat per year, about $180/month โ while Vendr's median Outreach contract runs around $45,600 a year. Full seat-tier breakdown in our Outreach pricing guide.
The structural thing to understand: the new AI features are credit-hungry by design. The more your reps use Omni and Agent Studio, the faster the allowance burns, and the sooner the expansion conversation starts. It's the same consumption flywheel as Salesforce's $0.10-per-action Agentforce pricing and Microsoft's Copilot credit meter. Before you buy, model a month of realistic agent usage against the credit allowance in your tier โ and negotiate overage rates up front, not after you're dependent on the workflows.
What This Means If You're on Salesloft โ or Deciding Between Themโ
The agentic release cadence is now a real differentiator in the Salesloft vs Outreach decision. Outreach has shipped a conversational agent, a no-code agent builder, and a full MCP suite in one year; buyers should put the same question to any competing platform: can external agents read and write here, and what does an agent action cost me?
If the credit economics or the quote-only pricing are the sticking point, the alternatives landscape has never been broader.
The Gap Omni Doesn't Closeโ
Here's the pattern across Omni, Agent Studio, and every agent workbench shipped this year: they make it faster to ask about your pipeline and easier to assemble automation. What they don't do is tell an SDR what to do next, unprompted, based on what's actually happening with their accounts.
Omni answers when asked. Agent Studio runs what RevOps builds. But the Monday-morning question โ which 20 accounts matter today and what's the play for each โ still depends on someone framing the right prompt or building the right agent.
That's the gap MarketBetter is built around. Instead of a chat interface over your engagement data, it watches buying signals โ website visitors identified at the person level, job changes, intent โ and turns them into a daily playbook of specific actions per rep: who to contact, why now, and with what message. No prompt required, no agent to configure, no credit meter running.
If your team is evaluating the agentic wave and wants the "what do I do next" layer instead of another interface to ask, book a demo and we'll show you the playbook on your own traffic.
FAQโ
Is Outreach.io the same company as Outreach.ai? Yes. Outreach rebranded its domain and positioning from Outreach.io to Outreach.ai with the April 27, 2026 Spring release, reflecting the shift from "sales engagement platform" to "AI agent platform for revenue teams." Same product, same contracts.
What is Outreach Omni? A conversational AI agent embedded in Outreach, Slack, and the mobile app. It answers pipeline and deal questions and executes follow-up actions (emails, tasks, record updates) in the same interaction, drawing on Outreach's meeting prep, deal, and research agents.
What does the Outreach MCP Server let me do? Connect external AI tools โ Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Agentforce, ChatGPT, Codex โ to Outreach so they can sequence prospects, update records, create and manage accounts and opportunities, and trigger workflow automations. Write actions shipped in May 2026.
How many AI credits do Amplify plans include? Roughly 10,000 (Essentials), 25,000 (Core), 50,000 (Plus), and 100,000 (Pro) per the published tier structure. All pricing is quote-only; credit consumption rates per action aren't publicly documented, so model your usage during the trial and get overage pricing in writing.
Does Salesloft have an equivalent to the MCP suite? Salesloft has been shipping MCP connectivity too, but Outreach claims the first full suite โ server plus client โ on a revenue platform (June 2, 2026). If agent interoperability drives your decision, make both vendors demo external-agent write actions live.
