Microsoft's AI Sales Agents: The October Dynamics 365 Push Explained

On October 8, Microsoft announced its biggest agentic CRM release of the year: 30 pre-built Copilot skills across Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Service, and Customer Insights, Dynamics 365 CRM inside Teams in public preview, a Sales Development Agent that researches prospects and runs outreach on its own, and a Service Agent that handles customer requests across Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The strategic read is simple: Microsoft is dissolving the CRM into the places sellers already work. You don't open Dynamics 365 anymore โ€” pre-meeting briefs, account updates, and case alerts come to you in Teams, and agents log everything back to the CRM without you touching a form.

Salesforce shipped seven job-ready SDR and sales agents in September. Google shipped a universal Gemini agent with coworker identities on the same day as this Microsoft release. OpenAI shipped Dots always-on agents at DevDay. Now the vendor that owns the inbox and the meeting โ€” Outlook and Teams โ€” has put its own SDR agent into public preview, with usage billing switching on November 16, 2026.

Here's what actually shipped, what the full Microsoft sales agent lineup now looks like, what it costs, and where it falls short.
